Spoofing of E-Mail Addresses

Did you receive a spam e-mail from Morris? If so, it was sent by a spammer, not by Morris, but the "spoofed" e-mail address causes the message to appear to be from an address associated with this web site.

E-mail addresses associated with this web site are occasionally "spoofed" by spammers. If you received a spam e-mail message that appeared to have originated with this web site (e.g., ostensibly from
xxxx@FLSAFMLA.com), please be assured that Morris did not send the message, nor does he have any control over these unscrupulous operators.

If you received such junk, please delete it or forward it to Morris for examination. Morris will forward the spam e-mail to the FTC, with an explanation that his e-mail address was spoofed,
for investigation of violations of the CAN-SPAM Act.

If Morris sends a message to you, it will either be in response to your inquiry or the heading will clearly indicate the business-related subject.

http://www.windowsecurity.com/articles/Email-Spoofing.html explains e-mail address spoofing.

The quotation below was excerpted from an FTC news release (regarding a spammer/spoofer), explaining the adverse public relations that can result from e-mail spoofing:

The FTC also alleged that the  the defendants used false “reply to” or “from” information in the e-mail, making it appear that some innocent third party was the sender. This practice is known as “spoofing.” As a result, thousands of undeliverable e-mails flooded back to the computer systems of these third parties, deluging their computer systems with an influx of undeliverable spam. In addition, this practice unfairly portrayed these innocent bystanders as duplicitous spammers, often resulting in their receiving hundreds of angry emails from those who had been spammed.
