CHILD LABOR
Coverage under the FLSA child labor standards is generally even more broad than is the case under monetary provisions.
The typical minimum age for employment in most non-agricultural jobs is sixteen. Under certain limited circumstances, in some industries, the minimum age is reduced to fourteen. If the work involves hazardous occupations, the minimum age is eighteen.

When the employment qualifies as "agricultural," a more relaxed set of standards applies. Certain hazardous agricultural occupations set a sixteen year age minimum.
There are various exemptions and special rules applicable to specified types of non-agricultural and agricultural employment.
